Pardon my ignorance, but where do I place this font so that all my programs can access it? If you need to know what I'm running, I'm running Xubuntu 7.10.

Hi, probably I am not the best Person to help You, but You can try:
1)folder ~/.fonts/ and see http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=797173
Programs like The Gimp,Scribus.. have own Folders for fonts. For example The Gimp:
see preferences Dialog -> Font Folders.
See http://docs.gimp.org/en/gimp-using-fonts.html
2)I use /usr/share/fonts/ as root.
Mayby that help You.
Ahh...yeah, that makes sense. Doesn't sound all that much different from installing themes, in fact (I'm a theme junkie and naturally enjoy this site!).

The glyphs: Ä Ö Ü ä ö ß ü are already in font gputeks.
