Description: Plasmoid (widget) for plasma panel. Shows the day of the week.
Useful for little panels. Can be put on the left or on the right of the clock. Simple and clear.
Perhaps you are also interested in 'Day of month' widget.
REQUIRED DEPENDENCIES KDE 5 (Plasma 5).
HOW TO INSTALL Download the file 'day_of_week.plasmoid' to some folder in your hard disk. Right-click on KDE Panel -> Add Widgets... -> Get new widgets -> Install widget from local file... A file selection window will be shown. Go to the folder (where you saved the file to), select the downloaded file, and click on Ok. The installation is done. Now we are going to add the plasmoid to the panel. Right-click on KDE Panel, click on 'Add Widgets...', search for Day of week, and double-click on the item found. The plasmoid will be added to the panel. Move the plasmoid to your favourite place (perhaps near the clock).
HOW TO UNINSTALL Right-click on KDE Panel, click on 'Panel preferences', rigth-click on the plasmoid (Day of week), click on 'Remove this Day of week'. The plasmoid has been removed from the panel. Now we are going to uninstall it. Open a shell and run this command: plasmapkg2 --remove day_of_week
SOURCE CODE The source code is into the file 'day_of_week.plasmoid', that is a zip file. So to see the source code, you only have to rename it to a .zip extension, and then unzip it: mv day_of_week.plasmoid day_of_week.zip unzip day_of_week.zip Last changelog:
1.1 First version (matches current version of 'Day of month' widget)
I have installed both "Day of week" and "Day of month". Alas the alignment of those two does not match. Can you please adjust?

Hmm, that is strange. I tested the widgets in little and big panels, and they were aligned correctly.
I've just tested again, and they look fine:

Are you using some special version of the panel? Or perhaps some special config of the panel?
Probably the vertical panel is not the reason. In fact, in the second screenshot I posted in my first response, the big panel is a top panel (and the first screenshot is a bottom panel). So no problem with top panels.
Hmm... Did you update the "Day of month" widget? On Sunday I published a new version (1.1) that uses the same layout as "Day of week". In fact, the first version (1.0) used a different layout, with different alignment. So perhaps you are using "Day of month" 1.0 and "Day of week" 1.1, with different alignment.
Or perhaps you updated "Day of month", but it wasn't really updated. I have noted that sometimes the update process could take the old version from cache. To make a safe update, I recommend to follow these steps:
1. Remove the widget from the panel
2. Uninstall the widget
3. Reboot the computer
4. Install the widget (new version)
5. Add the widget to the panel
Try that, and good luck :-)

7 7 good Handy to use with a calendar/date widget that uses the short date. Lacks format/font customization.
