Description: This is a maintenance fork for the QuickAccess plasmoid. The author has seemingly stopped writing the plasmoid, so I've opted to fork the plasmoid so that it still will be maintained. If the author decides to come back, then this fork will probably be merged back in to the original QuickAccess code.
I don't really think that anything other than a few assorted bugfixes and a small feature or two will ever come of this branch, but at least the plasmoid will stay maintained.

I LOVE QuickAccess. I really hope that it gets ported to qt5, Plasma2 and QML2. That way I'll be able to keep using it next year and beyond as KDE shifts over to KDE Frameworks 5 and Wayland. I'll be really sad to see it go.

Quickaccess is very useful, as I don't need to open Dolphin for my work folder.
It would be even more useful with bigger folders, if you could add a(n optional) filter bar in order to find a specific file.

With every dark theme for rthe desktop design, the text color of quickaccess will be light grey on a white cloudy background. Completely unusable ...
I understand the text color is controled by the theme, but there should be a configuration dialog somewhere in settings to control the text color, or to have a version for light themes and one for dark themes ...

AFAIK it cannot be controlled by the widget, it's all in the hands and good will of the plasma theme. I also use a dark theme, the text in quickaccess is white and good readable. I use the black H2O theme by Rogério de Souza.

im using kde 4.5 and It doesnt work, I had opensuse 11.3 with kde 4.5 before and it was perfect, but yesterday i reinstalled and upgraded and now it doesnt work,I'm gonna file a bug report if it is not already listed, firt time using launchpad, but have any of you got the same problem, did you managed to solve it?
I have tryed uninstalling and reinstalling and then rebooting and it doesnt work

I had the same problem when I upgraded to KDE 4.5 on Mandriva 2010.1. I got it to work by compiling the latest source code from the above link, but it's buggy. It doesn't resize right and if you change any settings all the icons disappear, but it's better than nothing. Hopefully someone will pick up development again, this is my most-used Plasmoid.

Just installed H2O icons and they also explained me how to do it pretty easy.. but if I do the same here, I go to the file location from within the plasmoid installer and it doesnt se anything, even if I uncompress the file from the tar file, thank you in advance!!!!

In KDE 4.5 you can finally set the maximum size of the icons in the panel. That does work for application launcher icons, I finally have a panel with icons in size 128x128 - but the quickaccess widget's icon stays at tiny size 32x32 - how comes?
QuickAccess is crashing Plasma on the new 4.5 betas. Please go to bugs.kde.org and look at bug #232363.
I've just update to beta 2 and am lost without QuickAccess. Please see if you can fix it.
